At the same time, public discussion surrounding Reddy’s recent letter seeking a probe into allegedly missing coal stocks continued to attract attention. In the communication, he called for an investigation into the reported disappearance of approximately 40 lakh tonnes of coal, estimated to be worth around ₹1,600 crore, from the stockyards of Singareni Collieries Company Limited. The issue has gained significance amid reports that the company has outstanding dues of approximately ₹51,500 crore payable to the state government.
